The silky part of the sliding sheet reduces friction and makes it easier for the patient to move by themselves and change position. For patients that need more assistance you can combine the sliding sheet with a draw sheet (2way) to assist them in the turning. For even more assistance add a sliding draw sheet (4way) insted of a draw sheet to positioning the patient even easier, both horizontal and vertical.
