Manual lifting aids

There are many situations in which lifting of the user can not be avoided. And in these situations, mechanical lifting should always be the first-hand choice as it provides a minimum of load on the caregiver as well as a safe and secure situation for the user. Of course, there are also situations when we have to perform manual lifts, but this should only be done when there really are no other alternatives. When lifting manually, it is important never to lift more than is legally permitted and appropriate for the individual caregiver's ability. It is also important to use good working postures and techniques as well as safe, simple and functional aids.

In this section you will find Handicare's manual lifting aids for manual supine and/or sitting transfers of users between two units, for example from bed to bed, from bed to wheelchair and from wheelchair to toilet but also for manual positioning and turning of users in bed. Each productpage includes information about what transfer situations the device in question is suited for.
